AkzoNobel has grown to be a leading global paints and coatings company with the acquisition of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) Paints in January 2008. With extensive experience in growth and strategy, Jeremy was brought into AkzoNobel on April 15, 2009 to lead the team as the Managing Director for AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints business in South East & South Asia, Middle East.
Following the acquisition by AkzoNobel in 2008 and the initial integration work, Jeremy has built up the capabilities and collective leadership in the region to transform the organization and extend AkzoNobel’s leadership in the marketplace. Jeremy’s top priorities include advancing the team’s strategic thinking and organizational development. He is steering the team to focus on customers’ expectations and the need for self-expression. Prior to joining AkzoNobel, Jeremy provided strategic consulting services, first with Accenture and then as an independent consultant to an extensive list of clients including Unilever. An expert in developing and delivering corporate and business strategies, Jeremy shares his scope and depth as a passionate advisor to numerous global and pan-Asian multi-national organisations all around the world.
Jeremy has since led the team in South East & South Asia, Middle East to create more value for its customers and stakeholders – building on the mega brand Dulux. A firm believer in the company’s vision in being passionate about introducing new ideas and developing sustainable answers for its customers – Jeremy has placed much emphasis on Research Development & Innovation. A believer in self-managed leadership, Jeremy is an advocate that an organization can only “grow as fast as its people” and that “none of us are as smart as all of us” put together.
Born in Farnham, Surrey in the United Kingdom, Jeremy graduated from the University of Southampton with First Class Honours in Cosmology, Astronomy and Quantum Physics. His accolades include winning the Ian Morton Prize for best academic performance and attaining an MBA with Distinction in Strategy, Finance and Marketing at the London Business School.
Jeremy is now married with two children aged nine and six years old. He tries to find time for his interests in the visual and performing arts, literature, popular science as well as fitness, golf and other sports. He also plays the piano as a form of relaxation amidst his hectic schedule.
